Independent media. Cultural history.

Some stories
deserve a future.

restored.media recovers and restores independent cultural publications, helping their writing, voices and history remain accessible.

Restoration in progress

An independent home for Australian music, writing and conversation. The archive is being reviewed and original stories are progressively returning to their historical addresses.

Our approach

Preserve the work.
Keep the record clear.

Original voices

Preserve the original writing and credit the people who created it. Identify any new editorial context separately.

Original addresses

Return recovered stories to their verified historical URLs wherever possible, so old links can lead somewhere again.

Documented restoration

Check surviving sources, verify publication details and document material repairs. Make unresolved gaps clear.

About

Led by Joel King

restored.media is led by Australian media founder and publisher Joel King. Its first public restoration project is Mess + Noise.

Joel leads the restoration. Recovered articles retain their original authorship, with restoration work and new editorial context credited separately.
